Happy holidays everyone! We hope that all of you and your loved ones are having a beautiful holiday season. Good ole Lexicon would like to contribute to your holiday cheer by releasing NEW MUSIC! Finally, Rapstars is close to seeing the light of day. Next week, our label home in France will be releasing a 3 song EP which includes songs from the forthcoming Rapstars full length. The teaser EP is led by the Internet smash “Junk Food,” which has been raved about by everyone from Perez Hilton to indie-hipster blog iHeartComix. Little known fact about the song: the guest female vocals are from actress Alexis Dziena who recently starred in “Nick and Norahs Infinite Playlist.” We’re shooting a video for the song too—it’ll be debuted in January. More on that soon.
And, to make the EP even better, the other 2 songs have never been heard or leaked on myspace or anything. “A Bit” features guitar shredder extraordinaire Dave Catching from Eagles of Death Metal, and “Check Out My System” is a moody banger much different from the patented L party jams that you’re all used to. Once again, this 3 song EP will be released digitally next week by our home away from home in Europe, LAITDBAC RECORDS
. Huge thanks to Damien and Thibaud for sharing our vision and making Rapstars available to the world.
Check out the artwork above by the incredible artist Kenyon B. He’s doing the entire series of singles and the L.P. cover as well and has really created a perfect visual match to the music. Check out more of his work here
