Hey everyone!
We hope this finds you all with your finances somewhat intact - of course for your sake, but also so you can make sure to buy all the Lexicon goodness that is coming your way in late 08 and early 09. And on a somewhat related note, PLEASE go vote for the next President of the United States. Give back 5 minutes of your time to this country and just vote - hopefully its for a certain candidate who really seems ready to usher in a new era. Its the best thing you can do aside from loving Lexicon with all of your heart!
We have a nice update on this 14th day of October, 2008. First off, we’ve decided to release “Rapstars” in europe before it hits American turf. Why? Cause it’s the cool thing to do of course! But for real, I know you’ve all been waiting, waiting and waiting patiently for this damn record to finally come out. And its coming…SOON. We’ve put so much time and effort into this record, and we want to make sure that it can spread its wings as wide as it can and reach its full potential. And releasing it in Europe before the end of the year, and then in the U.S. in early 09 is the best way for that to happen. And for those of you doing all that waiting - you know its all good. You’re all internet saavy and will be able to get your hands on it when it comes out in Europe. Long gone are the days of the $25 import CD at Tower Records.
This big, bad european release of “Rapstars” is being made possible by the fantastic, forward-thinking people over at Laitdbac Records in Paris, France. What up Damien and Thibaud! Many thanks to them for understanding and having the same vision that we do about this record. So it begins very soon - a great video for “Junk Food” will be hitting hard very soon, followed by a couple more vids for songs off the record that have not yet been leaked on the internets. Thank you all so much for your patience and belief in THE L. We really appreciate it, and wish we could thank every single one of you individually. One day soon i’m sure we will

We also have collabos galore in the books. We have a crazy hot track we did with Far East Movement, who have been blowing up the urban airwaves this summer with their hit “Low Ridin.” Hot producer Titsworth did the track. We also joined forces with Paul Layton of Layton and MaxxFemm for a dirty dancy tune called “Self Destruction.” Paul laid down the beautifully sleazy track - you all will love this. We’re also about to get in the studio with our favorite hiphop group out of LA in a while, The 87 Stick Up Kids. Should definitely be some heat!!! Look for more coming soon!
Lastly, our good ole song “Rock” refuses to die. As mentioned before, it’s appearing in the movie and soundtrack for the Bruce Willis/Mischa Barton film “Assassination of a High School President.” It also appears in the new indie flick “Ping Pong Playa.” And we just found out that it will be featured in the movie and the soundtrack for “Fanboys,” which stars Kristen Bell and some other cats from the Judd Apatow movies about a group of kids who go to Skywalker Ranch to steal the master copy of Star Wars. Should be hilarious.
Aaaand - keep checking back here because we’re going to begin posting up some “outtake” songs from the “Rapstars” sessions - songs that didn’t make the cut for whatever reason. Not sure if they’ll be for download, or just streamed, but one way or another its Lexicon music that you haven’t heard before, which has to be a good thing right?
