Lexicans!  Lexiques! We are back!  and we are in the lovely country of France (and Switzerland) for the next 6 weeks!

and we promise we are going to blog much more.  The first stretch is just Gideon, Dj C-Minus, and me, and the rest of the band will join us on October 24th.

Despite C-Minus’s misplaced passport (puke), we got here with ease and are back in the lovely Laitdbac lair in Neuilly.  Our first gig in France was supposed to be tonight but was cancelled due to some unfortunate circumstances…  but we actually don’t mind the extra day of Paris and rest.   Tomorrow we head to Rodez, France for the Eklekzik Festival!

Bonjour Betches!

I was hoping to blog more often, but the wifi hasn’t been as available as we hoped.  But the Junk Food Baby Europe 09 Mini Early Spring Tour is off to an amazing start!!

We flew for a long time, got pretty delirious, met our label face to face for the first time, and drank Bordeux until we passed out.  The next day (i think?) we played the final night of a 10th Anniversary of an amazing venue called l’Astrolabe in Orleans, France.  Not only was it our first show in Europe, not only was it our first show in ages without the band, but its our first show in about a year and a half! …. And of course we killed it!  200 french kids yelling “C’est Le L!”   We definitely brought the Lexicon Party overseas.

While we are out here, ITC scratch champion DJ Flip from Dublin Ireland is backing us.  We love him.  Bewbs.  Check him out on MySpace.  Also check out our new favorite band, We Are Success.  We will be jumping on stage with them on their show in Paris on April 2nd…check out their myspace for more info!

Next stop? To London!  Unfortunately we aren’t playing there this trip but we are shooting a video for our next single, Snap.  We are working with London based production company Grain Media, and the treatment for the video is sick!!!!!  We can’t wait.

So, a two day shoot in the UK, and then back with DJ Flip for three days in Greece!  Thesoloniki and Athens, and falafel and gyros, of course…

i’ll keep the updates coming.  and we are shooting video, so i’ll get that posted to!

Save the date! Well, all you really need is a countdown or just put a reminder in your calendar. But regardless, September 1st marks the release of Snap, our second digital single on Laitdbac Records

Along with Big Money, the songs will be available on iTunes Europe, FnacMusic, VirginMega, Amazon Digital, eMusic, and your other favorite European based digital distributors.

Can’t wait til then?! Neither can we! The folks at Grain Media in the UK shot an amazing video for Snap, which we will be premiering on YouTube on August 21st! That’s one week from tomorrow!

We’re back home and exOWsted!  Some fun at Coachella, 100 degree, and suddenly it feels like we never left!  I’ll post a full update as soon as I have the energy, and when i get the wifi hooked back up at home.  oy.

But the good news keeps rolling in from Paris!  You can check us out in the current issue of Rap Mag on news stands all over France now.  We are on the compilation along with other hot US acts like 50 Cent, Notorious BIG, and B-Real!

And the Junk Food video has been featured on the front page of the French blog on everything and anything, InfosJeunes.

Before we have even had a chance to catch our breathe (and upload photos!!!!) from our last Parisian excursion and recent overseas successes, we just got news we are leaving in two weeks to literally go around the world!

On the 15th of June we are headed west to China, as we are nominated for the BMI Emerging Artist Award at the nationally televised Music King Awards in Sichwan, China. Not only do we have a chance to win the award that acknowledges our song writing ability and talents, but we will also present an award and perform LIVE-ish on the show! We are a bit shocked and excited beyond belief.

After taking in the sites and some business/pleasure in Hong Kong and Beijing we will be flying west again, back back, to Paris Paris, for the Solidays Festival!! C-Minus, Erich, Alex, and Ed will be meeting us out there as the full Lexicon band will make their European debut for the literally hundreds of thousands in attendance on Friday, June 26th. For all of the info, check out Solidays.org. (and hear Junk Food featured on their website!) We will then head to Orleans, France to play the Jour J Festival on July 1st, and back to Paris for some bidness in early July. Then July 4th in Bordeaux with the band and July 7th in Lyon,
with DJ Flip! More info on those gigs coming very soon.

After, we will link back up with DJ Flip on July 8th, for a tour of his motherland, Ireland. We will be playing 3-5 shows between a whole lot of drinking, I assume, so we will keep you posted on the exact dates of that as well!

One more western flight home, and we’ll be back in LA mid July to start playing some shows for all of our patient, local fans We promise!!
